Monsters Eat Whiny Children

Monsters Eat Whiny ChildrenMonsters Eat Whiny Children by Bruce Eric Kaplan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

How hilarious is this book?! I can't wait till my kids are old enough to understand it. Maybe then they'll stop whining. The style of the book is what i love the most. The tone is casual, like the characters are having conversations with you. Hilarious!

Bats at the Ballgame

Bats at the BallgameBats at the Ballgame by Brian Lies

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As with the other "bats" books by Lies it is extremely poetic and beautifully illustrated. With a small selection of fun baseball picture books out there, this is the perfect sports read for the younger kids. It would be great read with "Casey at the Bat" or the other "bat" books by Lies. Great storytime offering for preschoolers through 2nd grade.

Ricky Gervais...for kids!

FlanimalsFlanimals by Ricky Gervais

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vibrant illustrations. Interesting species. Would be a great introduction for a library program where kids could create their own crazy monsters. Thanks, Ricky Gervais, for your hilarious nonsense!!

Also check out the awesome Flanimals pop-up book!

Frog Princess

The Frog Princess (Tales of the Frog Princess, #1)The Frog Princess by E.D. Baker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Princess Emma stumbles upon a frog in the swamp who claims to be a prince, she decides to help him out and turn him back into a prince through the magic of a kiss. Well, things turn out a little differently that Emma suspected. Instead of turning the frog into a prince, Emma is turned into a frog too. This is a great chapter book for reading aloud or reading alone. (Series by E.D. Baker)
